notes: you guys asked for it. you have no one to blame but yourselves. some titles derived from various novels, because i am a filthy, filthy plagiarist. this fic borrows on the assumption of a previous crossover that i have not written; ergo, everybody is already acquainted. but fear not, for all shall be explained. ♥ previous chapters are here. thanks to saaski_moql for the beta.

It's still a little slow, but things begin to pick up in chapter three. Actually, you can pretty much see when I decided to change course: it goes exposition exposition exposition OK LET'S WAVE OUR SWORDS AROUND.

I intend to give Hiei and Kurapika equal screentime (they're together for the lion's share of this fic) but you will notice Pika gets a hefty amount of POV, especially in the beginning. This is because Kurapika is more academically irritating verbose eloquent, and you will get a better feel of things when he remarks on them, as opposed to Hiei's "it was a room."
